I can help write or review assessment and accreditation documents, strategic plans, academic curricula, and online courses. Assessment & Accreditation

Assessment Leadership: I have served as a Dean of Teaching & Learning and as a Director of the Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence. In these roles, I have managed university assessment processes, led assessment committees, helped write and revise university assessment policies, and collaborated with faculty to write assessment and accreditation documents.

Gen Ed and Program Assessment: I have created General Education outcomes, assessments, and assessment plans, and I have coordinated assessment workshops and assessment sessions with faculty. I have also written assessment plans, program reviews, self-studies, portions of the HLC assurance argument, and I regularly help academic programs collect and analyze data.

Institutional Research and Scholarship: I have managed and administered institutional surveys (such as the Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory and the NSSE) on behalf of the Institutional Research Office. I have completed training in HLC and AACU Assessment Leadership and the Carnegie Designation for Community Engagement. And I regularly write about assessment and speak at professional assessment conferences (including at the IUPUI Assessment Institute).

Higher Education Administration and Leadership

I have an MBA in Organizational Leadership, and I have served as a Dean, Director, Department Manager, chair of faculty committees, member of the Executive Council, University Council, Senior Leadership Team, Deans Council, the College Leadership Team, Strategic Planning Team, Budget & Planning Committee, and many other university and college leadership teams.

I have also participated in leadership training for healthcare managers at UnityPoint Health, and I have completed training in conflict management and values-based ethical leadership. These experiences enable me to provide consulting services and collaboration on strategic plans, team-building, and leadership development.

Development of Academic Programs

I am actively involved in the development of academic programs as an academic administrator and instructional design manager. I have chaired a Curriculum Committee, and I have been part of the faculty governance approval process for new programs. I can help colleges develop program goals and outcomes, sample syllabi, and curriculum maps. I can also organize content, activities, assignments, and exams in online and hybrid courses on Canvas, D2L-BrightSpace, and Blackboard. I can also provide academic administrators with strategies for reviewing online courses (through Quality Matters or another rubric) and for evaluating quality of online instruction.
